what are your favorite board games to play? [this can definitely be open to card games, dice games, etc.]
The Settlers of Catan is one of my favorite board games of all time. I especially like the seafarer's expansion

Ticket to Ride is pretty fun stuff. I remember playing a board game when I was younger that was like a dungeon and you were trying to find jewels and shit. Just sold a dozen Magic cards on Ebay for $560!! That was a fave for a long time. Need the money for records nowadays thought

My sailing coaches tried to teach me how to play euchre a long time ago but I didn't get it very well. Hopefully someone'll teach me how soon, it looks pretty fun. My favorite board game is either Life or Monopoly. The thing I hate about Monopoly is, it doesn't end and you have to have the time limit. When I was younger I had a Pokemon version of Monopoly (that I had before I had the original) that I absolutely LOVED. I wish I still knew where it was. When I was a little kid I used to really love the board game Mouse Trap. It was a wacky game with a lot of do dads and such on the board. I don't even think I could even understand what you did to play, I just liked all the little stuff it had in it! XD

I remember euchre being very popular when I was in high school, only about 25 miles from Pittsburgh. Teachers and students would play it during free periods. Anyway, I thought it would be easier to post some pictures of my game closet. Of those, the only ones I play with some degree of regularity are Huggermugger, Scene It (preferably of the TCM variety), 221B Baker Street, Battleship, Scatergories and Pictionary. My girlfriend and I try the Ouija board every once in a while, but with no success so far. I try to refrain from playing Monopoly too much, because it always seems like a good idea, but, in my experience, it always turns out bad for all parties, revealing the worst, most greedy parts of people. Oh! And I can't forget the Goosebumps card game! That one's great when you've got a group of under the influence people. And one last thing! One game that I REALLY want to get (not so much to play, but because I think it looks awesome) - SéanceIt's got a tiny record player inside that table and the record is supposed to play "the voices of the great beyond!" I don't know if Ryan's checking this thread, but someone needs to put a bug in his hear about this. Wouldn't that be awesome if Graveface made something like this but instead with, like, a Marshmallow Ghosts 7"? Of course, the cost to produce such a thing would be astronomical, but oh so worth it.

Ticket to Ride is pretty fun stuff. i've heard of that, but have never played it... what's it like? It's neat. You try to build networks of train systems across the country. You each have a color and try to complete the routes on cards and when you do you get the points on the card. Then draw more. It's pretty involved (as a first time player it seemed that way) but once you get the gist it's pretty easy with just enough strategy to make it interesting. The only thing holding me back from buying it is the price and limited availability of participants. My girlfriend and I play cards a lot. All about the Euchre and Spades. Skip-bo and Phase 10 are cool as well. Cribbage is the shiz.

Seance is the best. It cost me waaaay too much to buy it. I actually looked into making something similar but beyond the cost thing, it's hard to find manufacturers that are even OK doing something out of their norm. I guess they are making so much bank they don't need to. With your unused games, you should consider selling them @ The Mary Cogswell Preservation Society. I've got about 20 already but the more the better.

that seance game looks incredible for the setup alone. as of now it's in my mind when i prowl garage sales/resale stores.
i love risk and stratego a lot, card games are good also but they don't have the same destructive randomness of the war games.
something instigated a desire for d&d the other day... i don't really sit down and play board games except during summer family reunions
