Oh shit. Don't get me started. Chicago probably has some of the best food I've experienced in the entire world. So far. Still have many countries to explore though. Here's a short list: De Cero - They call themselves a "modern day taqueria". The duck confit nachos are fucking sublime. Some awesome taco options as well. New Rebozo - Slightly upscale Mexican. The chef specializes in various moles - all of which are incredible. I tend to not order from the menu. You can request a sampler of moles in enchilada form. The real blueberry margarita is phenomenal. "Oh My God"! Kuma's - most tourists have probably tried this place by now but it needs to be mentioned. Hands down the best hamburger on earth (so far!). My only request is they need to make the ultimate spicy burger. Read and salivate: www.kumascorner.com/foodThai Spice - Easily the best Thai food I've ever had. It's a simple operation. An actual Mom in the kitchen and Pop as a server. The best part of this place are the levels of spice. Only 8 (I think) people have gotten to level 10. I think I'm at an 8. He will not let you climb more than 2 levels at at time. This place is the real deal. More soon. I'm suddenly starving.

Hey folks, I've only been to Chi-town a few times, so I know nothing of the local eats...but I'm heading up on March 26th for the Godspeed You! Black Emperor show at the Metro...any suggestions of anything near there? We'll also hopefully be spending the better part of the day in town, so other options not close to the Metro could work as well.

Jeez, I don't know where to begin, considering Chicago is one of the fattest cities in America! There's plenty of pizza places & even their McD's downtown knows how to make the best fries. Watch the Food Network, since they almost always feature this city on a stop or travel. I especially love an Indian food restaurant that was cool enough to also cater the pitchfork festival -- they had this special with fried curly fries, yet they were made with tofu & were extra spicey but very sugary sweet too! I ate 3 to 4 of those by the end of the day.

New find:
Sable - The cocktails are NUTS! Like nuts nuts. The bison short rib sliders are ridiculous. Homemade moonpies! This place is unreal. Plus they had a 30% snowstorm discount if you braved the cold which I thought was lovely.
Do it.

We'll also hopefully be spending the better part of the day in town, so other options not close to the Metro could work as well. Chilam Ballam & Thai Spice would be my suggestions. If you want knock-out good. If not there's a ton of 'normal' food in the area.
