just made up some samplers and the little box today to give set up in a record store here in madison called the Exclusive Co.! [who also carried the black moth reissue! but no others of the new releases, unfortunately...] i'm not exactly sure what i was thinking about with those arms.. but they look weird enough that i figure people will be intrigued lol Man! This is so cool!!

Just burned 5 samplers and whipped up a cover for them. Plan to make a box and put them in the local record store tomorrow. Tell me if you guys like it, think it needs changes, or whatever. I'm actually going to change some spacing, but that's about it. I know not all of the releases are out yet, but I can lie a bit Killer! Thanks man! I need to buy some cdrs also. I will be making 'official' silverback samplers sometime and will be sending those out to the street team to disperse.

Yeah, I was planning on doing some sampler drops in local stores also, but I don't know where my CD-Rs are.
Plus my printer has no ink.
And I don't really have any sort of casing.
So basically I've done no groundwork for that.
Ugh.

It sounds stupid but it could give your CD-R a ragged mummy look if you tossed it around in the dirt a little. I'm planning to do this and just walk up to people handing them out over the summer on campuses. Whoever actually takes one will be in for quite a musical treat! I base it on the whole "don't judge a book by its' cover" saying or you might miss out on the best thing that ever hit your ears.

I, too, am out of CD-Rs at the present, but I am definitely going to work on one of those boxes. In the mean time, I was thinking of maybe printing out a bunch of little flyers with the link to download the sampler (and of course some interesting artwork to catch people's attention.) I might go through the City Paper boxes right after a new issue hits the stands and stuff a bunch with the flyers. If you like this idea, Mr. Graveface, do you think it might be a good idea to make a link on the official graveface.com for the download? It could be something that links to the megaupload file you've already posted, but I just feel like people might be more likely to download something with an easily accessible url like graveface.com/sampler rather than a random sequence of letters and numbers. Or maybe I'm just nitpicky. Or maybe this is just a terrible idea.

Agreed! Let's make this street team public for anyone and everyone to join. It's too difficult trying to get in contact with all the folks and mailing material outside of orders, so this could be just a do what you can to help sort of team. I think it's sweet and shows a truly independent, grassroots motivation behind the Graveface Records label.

I'm new here, so I just signed up for this. Hopefully it's still active. I'd love to help promote Graveface in Salt Lake City.
