So after work today I was home alone, so I got changed, grabbed my iPod and a drink, and hit up the roof of my house to just hang out and admire a bit of sunset.
I turn on shuffle because I have no idea what I want to really hear, and "Remember You Smiling" came up and just crushed me. The whole situation was just so perfect.
So I decide to just listen to the album and it just gave me a whole new appreciation for it. The sounds were just meshing so well with my mentality and the climate surrounding me and everything and blah blah blah. I still don't know if I like it more than Sad and Lonely, but a good deal of this album makes me think of it entering the totally rarefied air of my 5/5 list.
/ratings snob, etc.
What a stupid post.

do any of you know what the significance is of the city plan-esque design on the side A/B/C/D labels? it looks sweet, i'm just unsure as to what it means/why it was selected

Much like the whole album is. Sorry. I kind of regret making that album as it's a bit too close.

Yeah, but it's oddly personal. Much like the whole album is. Sorry. I kind of regret making that album as it's a bit too close. I understand the feeling. It's difficult, in any artistic endeavour, figuring out which parts of yourself you want to make available to other people through your work. And sometimes uncomfortable when you feel you've gone too far, regardless of the context the work itself provides. But that's one of the things I love about TLFF. It feels very personal and very specific, even though I don't know the details of what it's about. It actually feels like a privilege to listen to something so artistically accomplished and yet so heart-felt, as though stumbling across something designed to capture moments in time, but never intended for public access. Like reading love letters passed between persons long deceased, the sense of intrusion is unshakeable but you can't help but appreciate the way they seem to capture the essence of whatever beauty exists in humanity. TLFF is my favourite album at the moment and I've probably listened to it more than anything else this year. I'm glad you released it.

That's the thing about true art it connects emotion. This album reminds me of my daughter who died at birth. I'm not sure what Ryan's pain was on this release but the emotion he put in it tied a thread to my pain, yet it's hopeful at the same time. So this realease along with a few others have really been instrumental in my continued dealing with this loss. I too am glad Ryan decided to release this. All the art on this is phenomenal. Releases like this are why I still buy vinyl.

I am ecstatic about the rerelease. Even without money, I somehow purchase Graveface titles..

I made a wallpaper (2 versions of a similar wallpaper) with the images in the download. i.imgur.com/hHzfq.jpgi.imgur.com/z8ZGb.jpgThat thing with the text looking all ripped up was a complete accident, and I don't know what happened. But it looked cool.
