I was thinking about this recently, and I'm curious what else everyone likes. I don't necessarily mean what album you like the most to listen to...more like what album is the best total package? Art, packaging, music....everything.
I feel like my answer would probably the The Long Forgotten Friend is I had it/saw it in person, but the two I'm really big on that I've seen would be the animated picture disc for So I Ate Myself, Bite by Bite (probably another popular choice), and perhaps Everyone Is A Ghost, for it's lovely artwork and vinyl coloring (pictures on the Monster Movie board!)
I'm curious what people like to look at that I haven't seen. Pictures are for winners!

Im going to say The Lava Children. I love the artwork, and the vinyl is beautiful. I also really enjoyed getting a big button of the art as well.

Good question, I think that So I Ate Myself wins.
The William Schaff art is even more amazing than usual, which is obviously saying a lot. The picture disc also looks ridiculously good and the music is the best stuff Dreamend has released yet in my opinion.
Honorable mention: AC Low Level Owl (even though I wish it was a triple gatefold)

at this point, bite by bite is my favorite...music, art, tricks......its all there. i have been wondering about the history behind this kinetiscope concept....its so awesome! did anything in particular inspire graveface to experiment with this technique? what other artists have done this? if anyone can point me to this information i would appreciate it!

I love the coloring of the third pressing of Dandelion Gum, and of course the music itself. The first pressing sounds like it would look great too but I've never seen it.

Dandelion Gum is one of the albums that I consider "a perfect album." It turned me onto BMSR and Graveface.

GRAVE046 debut 7" by Marshmallow Ghosts (featuring members of Appleseed Cast, BMSR, Dreamend and Casket Girls)
#1 - the hypnotizing swirl design: Side A - Shrieks (black & white) and Side B - Creak (black & red) #2 - font style for A & B is so sweet! (the "A" reminds me of Airwalk shoes' logo - my favorite) #3 - heavy weight vinyl [practically indestructible], maybe a killing tool? saw blade! #4 - concept of Halloween annual release series - a new Fall tradition to buy #5 - detailed artwork, especially stamped dates mimicking a library issued checkout, "damaged" #6 - glow-in-the-dark sleeve --- 3 ghosts look creepy holding innocent balloons #7 - hand-numbered 500 copies! that took some time friends #8 - ideology of different bands working together on this haunting collaboration #9 - additional download - extra special entering code into Graveface page #10- clear plastic sleeve to keep it protected with official sticker to keep me from forgetting all these listed reasons why it's the best overall record

Fucking awesome. " the cost on each for me is over $6 per copy" ~graveface you left that part off haha i get the feeling that this particular release was packaged the way it was to be super awesome instead of producing a boat load of cash. Seriously, makes it that much more special

Creaks (white and red-orange) Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm a detail slut. If I had to pick a favorite release it'd be a stiff tie between The Long Forgotten Friend and Dandelion Gum.

Thanks everyone! I gotta say as much as I love BMSR's Dandelion Gum, it's going to take a cataclysmic record release to knock off The Marshmallow Ghosts' debut for me.

I love a lot of the full records, but for me, it's the second 7" by Marshmallow Ghosts. It's got a mixture of sad and catchy that I can't quit.

I think my favorite is Periphery because I love the way the photography just so perfectly accentuates the music's atmosphere, and the transparent with yellow vinyl is such a neat thing to watch spin round and round, it's simply the epitome of calm
