It would be pretty cool if ryan did a Graveface message board compilation. There's some quality stuff here. seconded, impressed at how many distinct board members are actively doing things. looks like enough for a comp to me.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good way for me to get some decent sounding recordings? I usually just lay my laptop in front of my amp, and use the internal mic to record straight to garageband....
I'd have a lot more music to share if I liked the way the recordings sounded..

I'm working on my second album now, I'm super excited about it.
Bigger bass and drums, more focused. Plus my first album was made up of songs I've had in my head for like three years so it's nice to be working on fresh material.

I can say what I use is a microphone into an audio interface. Specifically, I use a Tascam US-144 interface, which cost ~$150. Then I just use a Shure SM-57 mic for recording. A cheaper option that might work is just a USB mic, but I've never tried any of those. For some great reading on the subject, I'd highly recommend: www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htmIt's more geared towards electronic production, but it's a wealth of knowledge that helped me get started with stuff.

Well I decided a few things today. 1. I dont need more people that just myself to start a psych project. I can do it with loops like Ive done with all my other music. 2. I'm just going to keep recording lo-fi, with one track straight to the little mic on my mac. Result... soundcloud.com/ghostandflower/1460-1Let me know what you think!
