Gadies and Lents!
So I thought I'd put some of these ideas down for all to see. If you read through this and dig, go here to sign up: graveface.com/street.html. In Feb/Mar I'll start sending out the passwords and physical goods to help promote (make sure your addresses are correct!). So take a few moments if this interests you and sign up! Just know this is a one man label so your help is incredibly appreciated and means the world to me. It's time to spread the gospel of graveface and I can't do it alone any longer...or something. Christ I'm annoying.
What is the Graveface Records Street Team?
The Graveface Records Street Team is a group of music and art loving volunteers who work together to help expose our various artists, bands, art, and other fun things, to friends and fellow music and art fans, music and art venues, buyers, etc. in their hometown. Members use the internet as well as promotional materials like Samplers, Stickers, Videos, Flyers, Postcards, and Posters (depending on availability) to give away to people just like themselves.
What do I have to do as a Street Team member?
All we ask is that you use the promotional items to reach out to music and art fans like yourself, to promote Graveface and its bands!
Where would be a good place to give away promotional materials?
Since you know your hometown better than anyone else, give materials away at places where people just like yourself hang out and spend leisure time. In case you're stumped or are looking for some ideas, here's a list of places that are great for handing out promotional material:
• Record Stores
• Music Stores
• Recording Studios
• After gigs and shows, outside a club, bar or arena
• College Campuses (Bookstores, Dorms, Student Union Buildings, Radio Stations, TV Stations, Cafeterias, Fraternity Houses, Sorority Houses)
• Schools (Common room, cafeteria, at the gates)
• Music, dance and theatre schools
• Lifestyle Shops (Unique Clothing Stores, Army Surplus Stores, Thrift Shops, indie hair and beauty salons)
• Tattoo and Body Piercing Shops
• Skate Shops, Surf Shops, Bike Shops, Sport’s clothing shops.
• Skate Parks, BMX or other sports Events, Surf events, To friends at the beach.
• Coffee Shops
• Hang Flyers on Corkboards, Message Boards, Kiosks and other places dedicated to the posting of public notices, including online.
• Galleries.
The sky is the limit, let your imagination guide you!
What about online?
All Street Team Members are encouraged to promote Graveface and its bands online. You can do this by posting about Graveface and its bands in chat rooms, sending messages regarding all things Graveface (music, pictures, artwork, links to our website etc) and its bands to your friends via email; and by visiting music sites, extreme sports & gaming sites, and your other favorite sites and posting about Graveface and its bands. Please supply a link to the Graveface website so people can visit and check out our releases. Please do not spam sites with multiple posts. Our intention is to promote, not to annoy.
What's in it for me?
Other than participating in the excitement of promoting Graveface and our bands and projects [and making some new friends in the process], you'll have access to some cool goodies throughout the year (when available). Plus, perhaps best of all, for every order placed with Graveface using your unique ID number, you'll receive 15% off from now on (this is contingent on taking screen shots and cell phone pics of your work and posting them in the street team messageboard)! We will offer up more cool perks if people actually sign up and seem interested in helping out. Consider this a trial run. Ideally this will grow and become a really amazing community.
If your college or other learning institution offers collegiate credit for the participation in programs like our Street Team, then we welcome any information you can provide to arrange for such credit. Please note, however, that while we are happy to provide your institution with any information it may need regarding our street team and your participation in it, it is your responsibility to arrange for such credit with your institution.
What will I get when I join?
Normally we initially send out Flyers and posters, or just ask you to surf the web. Sometimes, we will provide Samplers, stickers, swag, and special exclusive items available as they are created.
What is the time commitment?
While we do not mandate any set number of hours, we really only want to work with people who are dedicated to helping us spread the word about our services and our customers. Please don’t apply if you don’t think that you have the time or resources to be an asset to our team.
Are there any Street Team Rules?
YES. Please don’t sell the goodies that we send you. They're NOT to be sold, plain and simple-- this includes on Ebay or any other auction site. Some stores or venues may have rules against handing out materials on their property. So please ask, if in doubt. In addition, it is likely against the law to affix stickers or posters to public or private property. Abide by the law in your locality. Or don't. If you receive an advance copy of one of our releases, please do not digitize and post online unless we're prodding you to do just that. Everything leaks eventually anyways so why be the one to cause the leak.
Where can I get online flyers or artwork to make my own flyers, posters and stuff?
It would be really cool if you could help us that way! This all will be on the message board in the street team section.
Who do I contact if I have any questions?
Email me (Ryan Graveface): mail@graveface.com

Finally, we do limit the number of participants in each geographic area. Again, occasional screenshots and cell phone photos of your work are encouraged so that I'm motivated to keep this going. If no one lets me know what they are doing, odds are I'll become depressed and kill this idea. Last but not least, keep in mind that Graveface is just me. It can sometimes take me a while to get to everything but I try my hardest!
Stay sexy.
(FYI: Most of the informative text above was stolen from a bunch of other street team sites I found. This should be obvious by how cheery it reads.)
