Oh, I actually just saw that I guess the show is canceled.
I hate everything.

July 29th I'm seeing Animal Collective at the Merriweather Post Pavillion. The day before I'm possibly going to see The Flaming Lips, Yeasayer, and Weezer!

Last night I dj'd at the end of a swamp on the edge of the river for 6 hours. Got piss drunk, was awesome.
Hooked up a nice gig with this guy that was there, playing at his place this weekend. Giant field with a pond with a massive waterslide... trying to figure out what girls to invite.

TechFest is this weekend in Detroit.
Flying Lotus And Com Truise (!!!) are both playing and I REALLY wanna see them both, especially the Truise man. But TechFest is RIDICULOUSLY expensive and I doubt my parents will even let me go since it's a festival and they are crazy.. but I still gotta see.

good luck on it, festivals tend to be well worth it.
on that subject i'll be attending bonnaroo in two weeks in a pseudo press capacity. any other board attendees want to meet up for a set that'd be rad

Working on booking a couple shows in July for Alps, on tour all the way from Australia! Go see him if he comes to your town, going to be all over the place.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor in Vancouver was the last gig I saw. Not much comes thru this small town (lol) so I have to go on an epic journey to catch anything at all.
The show was awesome - it finishes my trifecta of best shows ever. (the other 2 being Pink Floyd & Kyuss)

Right on, cnr - I woulda liked to have seen them back then.
The thing about this gig that really struck me was how perfect the sound was. Amazing - I didn't think it possible.

i really love their music, but for some reason, i was just not feeling it that night. might have been because i was all the way in the back. usually i like to get to shows early but my friend was driving and he didnt care to get there early because he had just seen gybe the night before!

so far this year the show's i remember seeing are: Deerhoof Baths/Braids Appleseed Cast Vivian Girls/Black Lips Phosphorescent This Will Destroy You Tobacco/Beans Joan Of Arc/Air Waves Mogwai/Errors Algernon Cadwallader/Snowing/1994/Final Club
I feel like I have seen more this year, but I am bad about keeping track.
At the JOA show, some exceptionally hip dude kept shouting "cap'n jazz, jazz'n cap" between every song. Eventually, Tim called him out and told him off for like 10 minutes. I think they skipped on playing Owls songs because of him. They played so many classic jams tho! It was incredible.
