I got a cassette. Also, I'm so ridiculously jealous of that pirate word scramble. So your cassette was included as part of the record club? I should probably email Ryan. Yeppers!

the whole missing cassette thing was discussed in the record club board. This is the record club thread... correct, but there is a secret, hidden record club board.

Did RC members get the cassette? It didn't look like it would fit in the box so maybe it will come later? Yes, he used extra bubble-wrap to protect it. You could be right to say there wasn't enough room though because I only requested the Appleseed Cast & BMSR. Mainly, I got a message that some club members were really sad to miss out on either 056 / 059 and well I'm more looking forward to other bands, like The Lava Children and The Nighty Night. I'd sit tight and see what comes with your next order, possibly 060 will have the rest. You got 3 overall releases, then you got 3 Freddy points. I had 2 of 2 included. I'd love to know what the gold ones look like too! Usually, test pressings have a white label in the center and sometimes they actually have hand written or ink stamped 'Test Pressing' on them or are completely blank or maybe basic info (band & track names) hand written. I got 5 Freddy points. 3 from CDs of bmsr, loose salute, and hospital ships. And two from hospital ships and loose salute LPs. The reason I mentioned the dandelion gum point is because i saw the repress at the local record shop and it had one included. Thanks for the info!

Postal strike/lockout here in Canada - nothing coming in the mail for me in a while. (altho I'm getting flooded with emails & phone calls telling me about other options for paying my bills, of course LOL)

Are they working for the government? or an independent union? What's the deal there? I can't imagine our postal service in the US doing this, but then again stranger things have happened in our political system.

Great service... except if they strike LOL

I'm late to the party w/ this message board. I must've missed it on previous e-mails. I just came on to say this record club is the best one I've ever subscribed to - currently I think I am in 4 or 5 others.
Keep up the great work Graveface. Love the swag.

Love the swag. what others are you in? i'm looking into getting in another one, but i cant figure out which i should join... not that any could truly rival graveface! They really run the gamut stylistlically so it's really about what your flavor is. Light in the Attic- They do pretty much all obscure reissued material. Anything from soul to punk to funk to french pop and anything in between. I like all their releases and are friends of mine so I'm happy to support the cause. Not too much extra with the sub. Numero Group- They also do reissued Soul material but they do it in the form of obscure comps rather than straight albums. An unbelievable amount of research and data comes with these releases. Numero's always got something interesting up their sleeve. It's pricey, but in terms of quality in that genre, they cannot be beat. Oh and if you want to have access to that unbelievably rare Cuban salsa 45 that you'll never find anywhere else in the world, these are your guys. Shattered Record Club- Jay Reatard subscription club. Sadly, these releases have recently finished. Jay was my age...Still crazy to me. Aagoo Records Pic Disc Series- A series of a handful of pic discs of lo-fi indie swag. Not too many in the series and I'm a sucker for these. Third Man Vault Record Club- Probably goes without saying but Jack White's Vault series for $60 gets you an LP, 7", and some form of memorabilia every quarter. Its super pricey but hey if there's something you don't really like and are strapped for cash you'll easily find someone who wants it - and probably for much more than you've paid. I go back and forth about Jack. He's incredibly innovative with his releases but he also appears to be a bit of a snake oil salesman. If you obsess about having every version of every release don't even bother with Third Man. You will go broke. I'm sure everyone here already knows all of this. I think that's about all of them. I feel like I'm forgetting a few but it's tough to keep track. In terms of extras, no one comes close to Graveface. The fact that you get a copy of everything in each format is absolutely amazing to me. The whole record club, material site unseen even, couldn't be more enjoyable and I couldn't be happier about my decision to sign up.

I checked all of these out. Thanks for posting...
I think you are right about Third Man, I just can't seem to justify it...not after just receiving my first record club mailing from graveface.
